Pour Some Sugar On Me …

Summer is weeks away!

Getting ready for summer means bathing suit shopping, manicures, pedicures and most importantly, getting rid of unwanted hair.

Whether it’s your legs, underarms, bikini area or all three, there is a fairly new, effective and safe method of hair removal called sugaring.

Here is a breakdown of sugaring and how it works.

Application:

Sugaring paste is applied to the body, at body temperature, and will not burn your skin.

A single glob of Sugar Paste can be used on different parts of your body then discarded after your treatment. It is never used on another person.

The warmed, thick sugaring paste is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth with the technician’s hands. It's then flicked off in the direction of the hair growth, removing the hair.

Ingredients:

Sugaring paste has no harsh chemicals and is made out of natural ingredients of sugar, water and lemon juice. (It's actually edible!) This technique dates back to early Egypt and was an ancient middle-eastern practice for hair removal.

Wax, another popular hair removal ingredient, has many chemical ingredients, mostly resins and preservatives.

Not Harsh on Skin

Unlike waxing, where removal can often be harsh and result in hair breakage, ingrown hairs, or burns that can be painful and difficult to get rid of, sugar paste only adheres to dead skin cells. The mixture spreads deep into the hair follicle, successfully removing the hair and the inner root.

The removal is also gentle and effective. That is why sugaring has become the most preferred and most effective hair removal method by many professionals.

Progressive Results

When the hair starts to grow back, you will notice that it is lighter and eventually less thick.

Over time, frequent sugaring can cause the hair follicle to become damaged, and stop growing completely.
